Biography

1985 – Aléa Figueroa was born to Andrea and Ric Figueroa in Columbia, South Carolina.

1986 – Being born into a house with three dogs, Aléa becomes a dog lover from an early age.

1987 – The family packs up their bags and moves to the theme park capital of the world, Orlando, Florida.

1988 – Having to entertain herself, Aléa quickly learns the most important buttons on the VCR (power, play, and rewind).  She becomes a VCR operator expert on movies such as Beetlejuice, Willow, and Howard the Duck.

1989 – Aléa experiences her first crush, Michelangelo, from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

1990 – Aléa is promoted to Big Sister when her baby sister, Ariel, is born. The family chooses the name because they are in love with Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

1991 – Aléa is sent to the principal’s office for the first (and only) time for chasing the kindergarten boys at recess with kisses.

1992 – Aléa discovers her love of sports by joining a t-ball team. She is the only girl but it didn’t matter because her father is the coach.

1993 – After her mother warns her that she would hurt herself, Aléa breaks her nose by playing basketball in the house. Mothers know best.

1994 – In order to fit in with the boys, Aléa purchases Jurassic Park cards to trade at recess. The holographic T-Rex ones are her favorite.

1995 – In order to make a buck or two (more like a quarter or two), Aléa makes and sells creepy crawlers from her creepy crawler set. She sells them for five, ten, and twenty-five cents.

1996 – Aléa is a contestant on Secrets of the Cryptkeeper’s Haunted House” which aired on CBS. She is on the pilot and she wins an apple computer. Math Blasters is her favorite computer game.

1997 - Aléa becomes power hungry and runs for Student Council president. She wins by a landslide due to a speech that she roughly bases on Al Pacino’s in City Hall. 

1998 – After three years and four months of braces and wearing a headgear, Aléa has straight teeth.

1999 – After nine years of fast pitch softball, Aléa calls it quits so she could focus on theatre.

2000 – Aléa joined Lake Howell Theatre Company and earns her first role as a Rydell Cheerleader in Grease.

2001 – This is a scary year for Orlando drivers because Aléa is now behind the wheel.

2002 – Aléa earns her first lead role as Cleopatra in William Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra.

2003 – Aléa performs in eleven shows her junior year of high school.

2004 – She graduates Suma Cum Laude from Lake Howell High School. During her four years, she worked on over thirty-five shows. 

2005 – Aléa finishes up her first year at Rollins College as a theatre major and loves every second of it (even the all nighters in the library).

2006 – Aléa earns her first professional role at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater as RK Possum in Peter Rabbit.

2007 – Once again Aléa becomes power hungry and is elected President of Rollins Players, the student theatre organization on campus.

2008 – Aléa graduates Magna cum Laude from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida with a BA in Theatre Arts.

2009 – Aléa begins her studies at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater in the performance based intern training program.

2010 – Aléa loves performing in Hamlet and All’s Well that Ends Well in repertory at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater.

2011 – Aléa tours U.S., Canada, Cuba, and Bahrain performing with the Missoula Children’s Theatre.

2012 – Aléa packs up and moves to Houston, Texas to become a Middle School drama teacher.

2013 – Aléa meets Jonathan Gonzalez, artistic director of Shakespeare in the Shade and he casts her as Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

2014 – Aléa decides that it is time to go back to performing full time. She spends her time acting in plays, short films, commercials, and music videos. She loves every second of it!  

2015 - Aléa continues to act in commercials, industrials, and short films. She also joins And You Films as their Production Manager, working both in front and behind the camera.

2016 - Aléa is seen on television shows and feature films on the Lifetime Movie Network, Oxygen, and HBO as Jody in "Ballers." She also line produces on a feature film for the first time.
